Librosy Terms of Use
1. What Librosy is
Librosy is a personal document reader for iOS. It lets you open and read e-book files (EPUB, FB2, PDF, TXT, Markdown, HTML, RTF) that you already have. Librosy does not provide, host, distribute, sell, or recommend any books. We do not operate a bookstore or library. We do not embed any third-party content catalogue inside the app.
2. Your content stays yours
All files you import into Librosy, along with the highlights, notes, bookmarks, and reading data you generate, belong to you. Librosy stores this data on your device. We do not run any servers and have no copy of your library.
3. iCloud Sync (Pro)
If you subscribe to Librosy Pro, you can enable iCloud Sync from Settings → Synchronization. When sync is on, Librosy stores a subset of your reading data (described in the Privacy Policy) in your own iCloud private database via Apple's CloudKit. We do not operate, host, or have access to that database.
- Apple's iCloud Terms and Apple's Privacy Policy govern the storage layer. We are not party to those terms.
- We are not responsible for iCloud availability, your iCloud storage quota, sync delays caused by Apple's infrastructure, or any consequences of you signing out of iCloud, switching Apple IDs, or deleting iCloud data outside Librosy.
- You may disable iCloud Sync at any time in Settings. Disabling sync does not delete your local data and does not delete data already in your iCloud — both are preserved.
- If your Librosy Pro subscription lapses, iCloud Sync pauses automatically. Local data and previously synced iCloud data are preserved. Renewing Pro resumes sync.
- You are responsible for ensuring your imported content (see § 4) complies with copyright; that responsibility is not changed by syncing metadata about that content.
4. Your responsibility for content you import
You agree that you will only import files into Librosy that you have the legal right to read, store, or copy on your device — for example, files you bought, files released under a permissive licence (such as Creative Commons or public domain), or files you authored yourself.
Librosy is a reading tool. We have no way to check the licence of a file you bring in, and we do not try to. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of any imported file complies with the rights holder's terms and with the laws of your jurisdiction.
5. Copyright complaints
If you believe a feature of Librosy itself (not user-supplied content) infringes your copyright, contact [email protected] with:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
- The specific part of Librosy you are reporting (a screenshot helps).
- Your contact information.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
We will review every notice we receive and act in good faith to remove or disable any infringing feature.
6. Repeat infringer policy
Librosy does not host user content, so there is nothing for us to remove on a per-user basis. However, if we learn that a user is using Librosy in combination with external services to repeatedly infringe copyright (for example, by publicly sharing exported quotes that contain large blocks of copyrighted material), we may terminate access to features such as quote-card sharing for that user. We will also cooperate with valid legal process.
7. In-app purchases
Librosy is free to download. Librosy PRO unlocks the premium features and is available as two options through Apple's In-App Purchase system:
- Librosy PRO Yearly — $19.99 per year (auto-renewable subscription). This is an automatically renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase.
- Librosy PRO Lifetime — $39.99 (one-time purchase). This is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Librosy PRO permanently for your Apple ID. It does not renew and is not a subscription.
There is no free trial. Purchases are processed by Apple under their terms; we never see your payment information. Your PRO entitlement is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored from Settings → Premium → "Відновити покупку". Refund requests go through Apple's standard refund process, not us.
8. No warranty
Librosy is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that every file you open will render correctly, that the app will be free of bugs, or that it will be available without interruption. We will continue to improve the app, but we cannot promise specific outcomes.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Librosy and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of business. Your sole remedy if you are unhappy with Librosy is to stop using the app and uninstall it.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that meaningfully affects your rights, we will note the change in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app on next launch. Your continued use of Librosy after that means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also keep the consumer-protection rights granted to you by local law.
